This safari starts and ends in Kigali and can also be done on a private basis.  It visits Akagera with its beautiful undulating plains, its woodlands and sprawling lakes and wetlands. The game in the park is steadily increasing, with elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, crocodile and different antelope beginning to be seen. Akagera has a good selection of birds.

ITINERARY

Day One: Akagera National Park.
You will drive to the east of Rwanda to Akagera National Park after being briefed about your safari. Have an afternoon game drive in the park and be able to see a variety of birds and animals such as elephant, giraffe, buffalo, spotted hyena, hippo, and crocodiles. Overnight and dinner at Akagera Lodge (FB).

Day Two: Canoe Ride.
After breakfast, either go for a morning game drive in the park again or a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see the large number of hippo, the huge Nile crocodile and birds. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Lodge (FB).

Day Three: Return to Kigali.
An early morning game drive. Lunch and return to Kigali.
